Two years ago, when Medline produced the original Pink Glove Dance video to raise breast cancer awareness, little did they know that it would take on a life of its own. The video has since generated more 13 million views on YouTube and inspired countless pink glove dance videos and events around the world.
This year, with the continued interest in the videos, Medline decided to host an online nationwide competition to find the best Pink Glove Dance video. Hospitals, nursing homes, schools and anyone in the U.S. and Canada who wants to organize a group of people, can produce and submit their own Pink Glove Dance video.
Over the past year, Western Connecticut Health Network has undergone tremendous change. The network came together as a compilation of two hospitals, a physician network and numerous other entities all operating as one network. This past year is also the beginning of our expansion project that will take several years to complete. All of these changes exemplify our commitment to growth, with and for the needs of the communities we serve. Both of the network hospitals have a strong commitment to breast cancer. They both offer dedicated breast care programs, and New Milford hospital is an accredited breast care center. They also have a shared interest in progressive research to find the cure. The Pink Glove Dance video offered a vehicle to bring us together as a network to support something we all believe in and have a strong commitment to. It brought multiple locations together as one (construction team included!) and was an inspiration to all who participated. “It brought us together as a team, having fun while supporting our commitment, awareness and dedication to breast cancer. We hope everyone who views it will catch that spirit, join us in our shared mission to find the cure, and enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed putting it together.”
